The Lion and the Mouse: A Fun Jungle Friendship Story for Kids

The Lion and the Mouse story

Once upon a time, in a big, green jungle, a mighty lion was taking a nap under a shady tree.

Suddenly, a tiny little mouse ran right across the lion’s nose!

“ROAR!” woke the lion with a start. “Who is disturbing my sleep?” he growled, trapping the mouse under his huge paw.

“Please, Mr. Lion, don’t eat me!” squeaked the mouse. “I didn’t mean to wake you. If you let me go, I promise I will help you someday!”

The lion laughed. “You? Help me? You’re just a tiny little mouse! How can you help a big, strong lion like me?”

“Even the smallest creatures can do great things,” said the mouse bravely.

The lion thought for a moment and then said with a smile, “Alright, little one. I will let you go. But remember your promise!”

The mouse squeaked with joy and ran away as fast as his little legs could carry him.

A few days later, hunters came into the jungle. They set a big net and caught the lion! The poor lion roared and struggled, but he could not get free.

Hearing the roars, the little mouse ran to help. “Don’t worry, Mr. Lion! I’m here to help you!”

The tiny mouse started nibbling at the ropes with his sharp teeth. Snip, snap! Bit by bit, the ropes broke, and soon the lion was free!

The lion shook his big mane and smiled. “I laughed at you before, little mouse, but today you saved my life. Thank you, my friend!”

The mouse bowed and said, “See, even the small can help the mighty!”

From that day on, the lion and the mouse became the best of friends.

Moral: No one is too small to help others.
