Once upon a time, in a dense forest, there lived an old tiger named Chitragriva. He was once strong and fierce, but now, age had slowed him down. He could no longer hunt as he used to, and hunger made him weak.
One day, while sitting near a river, Chitragriva had an idea. He picked up a golden bracelet and a blade of sacred grass. Holding them in his paws, he called out to passersby.
Chitragriva: “Come, travelers! I offer this golden bracelet as a gift. Take it and go in peace.”
A traveler, hearing the tiger’s call, approached cautiously. He saw the bracelet and the tiger’s kind gesture.
Traveler: “Why would you give away such a valuable thing?”
Chitragriva: “I am old and no longer wish to hunt. I seek only peace and wish to share my wealth.”
The traveler, tempted by the gold, stepped closer.
Traveler: “If you truly wish to help, I will accept your gift.”
As the traveler reached out, Chitragriva suddenly pounced, trapping him with his powerful paws.
Chitragriva: “Greed has led you into my trap. Now, you shall be my meal.”
The traveler, realizing his mistake, pleaded.
Traveler: “I was blinded by greed and failed to see your true intentions. Please forgive me.”
But it was too late. Chitragriva, with a heavy heart, ended the traveler’s life.
🧠 Moral:
