Fox and Stork – Panchatantra Story for Kids

Chatura the Fox and Kakoli the Stork

Once upon a time, in a big green forest, lived a clever fox named Chatura and a kind stork named Kakoli.

One day, Chatura said, “Kakoli, please come to my house for lunch! I have made something special for you.”

Kakoli happily agreed. “Thank you, Chatura! I will come.”

When Kakoli arrived, Chatura served soup in a flat plate.

“Eat up, Kakoli!” he said, smiling.

Kakoli tried to drink the soup, but her long beak could not reach it. Chatura, however, licked it all up quickly.

Kakoli smiled politely. “Thank you, Chatura,” she said, but she remembered how he had tricked her.

A few days later, Kakoli invited Chatura to her house. “Come to my house for lunch today, Chatura!” she said sweetly.

Chatura came happily. Kakoli served the soup in a tall, narrow jar.

“Eat up, Chatura!” she said.

Chatura tried to drink the soup, but he could not reach a single drop. Kakoli, with her long beak, drank it all easily.

Chatura felt sorry. “Oh! I see now. I should not have tricked you, Kakoli,” he said.

Kakoli nodded. “Remember, Chatura, we should always be kind and fair to others.”

From that day, Chatura never played tricks again, and both friends shared many meals happily.

Moral: Be kind and fair. Don’t trick others, or it may come back to you.
